Requirements

A modern TeX distribution (TeX Live 2024 or newer) providing lualatex and latexmk.

Getting the template

Through the nptmpl registry

Building

Source lives under tex/<DIR>/, where DIR selects which deck to build (01 by default, template is the blank starting point).

make compile            # build tex/01/main.tex into tex/01/build/
make full               # build, then copy the PDF into tex/01/pdf/
make DIR=template full  # build the blank starter deck instead
make clean              # remove intermediate build artefacts
make help               # list every target

Layout

Writing a new report

1. Copy tex/template/ to tex/<your-name>/.
2. Edit main-setup.tex for the title, author and date.
3. Write your slides in main.tex.
4. Build with make DIR=<your-name> full.

Housekeeping

latexmk writes intermediates into tex/<DIR>/build/. They are ignored by .gitignore and excluded from registry uploads by the ignore list in .nptmpl. To sweep any that were committed before those rules existed:

python3 scripts/clean_template.py templates/latex_slide/periodic_report

That prints what it would move and changes nothing. Add --apply to move the files into a timestamped _quarantine/ directory, or --apply --delete to remove them outright.
